The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie 2 Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render services into the community.

SASSA will likely be rendering expert services including new social grant applications, change of payment method, client treatment enquiries, along with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency mentioned it is alarmed concerning the high quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The goal of your Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out into a significant number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly as a result of lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no absolutely functional office committed to service the area daily. The company stage made for intervention activities a substantial inflow of potential beneficiaries, which makes it difficult for that office to attend to all people who visit a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise additional methods to allow the servicing of all buyers and improve usage of Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
